With nowhere else to turn, she ended up making a deal with Alcor so that she could physically transition, at the cost of not being able to use her voice for a year. 			After that began a long process of getting her parents used to the change. Because she could no longer talk, Alcor had to appear to explain everything to them. There were a number of arguments, and on one occasion, Alcor took Maple to live with a reincarnation of [[Cassie]] for a while to keep her safe. But in the end, her parents' love for their daughter won out over their ignorance.

			Maple transferred to a new school, made new friends, and started living the life she had always wanted.
