The bottomless pit is a magical phenomenon that seems to be a never-ending abyss. Due to intense exposure to demonic energy, it has developed into a thriving, if highly aggressive ecosystem. The pit is in fact bottomless, but the cavern exists in one of Alcor's pocket dimensions. No natural light reaches the bottom. The cavern is reached a little over a kilometer down.

History
At some point, The bottomless pit connected to Alcor's top hat, exposing it to intense demonic energy, around the same time that the town of Gravity Falls started using it as a garbage dump. A combination of trash, random trinkets, and a constant flow of demonic radiation triggered rapid evolution in trapped wildlife, creating a unique and bizarre ecosystem.
Habitats
Trash Heap
In the middle of the cavern lies a good mountain of trash, formed from centuries of dumping.
Wetlands
the Wetlands are large, roughly flat, and lie between the trash heap and the lake. Filled with tripping hazards.
Questionable lake
A lake surrounds the trash mountain, serving as the home to an unknown number of species, including goldfish and insects. It likely formed from rainwater.
The wall
The wall of the cavern is made of a dark, oddly felt-like material. It is impossible to damage. The lake is along the perimeter.
Plant Life
Yggdrasil
A variation of Yggdrasil unique to the pit grows wherever it’s been exposed to the air for long enough, mainly in the trash heap. It grows in thin, crawling leaves, with the rare occasional stalk. It is only identifiable as yggdrasil for the glowing bulbs found on every adaptation of it.
Wildlife
Bats
The “Ceiling” of the cavern is a roosting area for thousands of bats, which are bigger and meaner than normal bats.
Frogs and Toads
Frogs and Toads live in the lake and wetlands area, making lots of noise. They respond to light with immediate silence.
Various Rodents
There are many rodents that inhabit the mountain and wetlands, most of them blind, with pale coats.
"Hell Racoons"
The racoons are one of the few species in the pit to develop bioluminescence as a countermeasure to the darkness. They glow in a strong, blue-green light. Quick and violent, they can be scared off by sounds made from above.
Goldfish
Goldfish live in the deeper parts of the lake, being much bigger than normal ones. They can jump over a meter out of the water, and eat anything they can get into their own watery home. Only some of them glow.
Snakes
Snakes in the pit are smaller than usual, with at least two heads. They navigate by infrared vision and smell, communicating with a low form of telepathy.
Insects
Various insects live all over the pit, including but not limited to:
- Dragonflies- strong bioluminescence, live on and around the lake, 40-120 mm
- Fireflies- can be seen from seemingly arbitrarily far away, 5-15mm
- Beetles- burrow in the layer of muck at the bottom, 3-70mm
- Moths- All observed individuals with feather-antennas, navigates by smell? Unknown diet, 20-50mm
- Flies- Very numerous, vestigial eyes, antennas became smell/magic detectors?
- Larva- Miscellaneous, 4-100mm
- Spiders- Many of them, large, eyeless, spins, their nests are everywhere, too big
Sentient Objects
A few of the dumped trash has gained sentience and/or sapience, including a stove named Natasha Emanuel.
Dove King
The dove king looks as if someone took three white doves, half melted them, then fused them together. It mainly hunts the rats and small racoons. They don’t seem to have healthy internal organs, instead reproducing by tearing off pieces of themselves, which will then become their own organism
