Transcendence AU

Transcendence AU is a shared universe of the cartoon Gravity Falls created by zillychu. It deviates from the canon of the show in two major ways:
- When Bill Cipher is near death, he attempts to possess Dipper Pines against his will, and dies in his Mindscape. Because of this, Dipper is permanently transformed into a demon.[1]
- Bill's attempt to merge reality and the Mindscape fails, but the "weirdness bubble" surrounding Gravity Falls pops and weirdness becomes commonplace worldwide. This event is known as the Transcendence.
History
Mod Z wrote the original post describing the idea that became TAU on September 17th, 2014.[2] They received enough of a response to it that, on October 5th, 2014, they created a separate blog (the TAU blog) to aggregate content related to it.[1]
On September 17th, 2015, Tumblr deactivated mod Z's account following a false policy violation claim. This caused all of the blogs associated with their account to be deleted, including both the main TAU blog and tau-cast. The community scrambled to fix this by combing through archives, screenshots, and caches, as well as by petitioning Tumblr staff to restore mod Z's account. The main TAU blog was restored the next day, but tau-cast was not, nor were any of mod Z's other accounts.[3]
