Belle Sterling
Belle Sterling is a Mizar from Return, Rewind, Rewrite Arc.[1]
Physical description
Belle grows out of her close resemblance to Mabel as she gets older and discovers her own style, one that incorporates a lot of bright clashing neon colours, tacky Lisa Frank imagery, 80s silhouettes, and glitter. Looooots of glitter.
She has Mabel’s dark, waist-length curly hair, but lets Onika shave half her head for graduation, and within the first year of college has chopped off what’s left to about chin-length, a style she keeps pretty much the same for the rest of her life.
She has very rounded features and a wee button nose, and wears rectangular wire-framed glasses and a lot of outrageously coloured eyeshadow. She ends up being about 5’4” and 170 lbs, with most of her weight in her hips and butt. Her mother was a Chilean mestiza, but Belle looks very white.[2]
History
Belle was born with a serious lung condition. To save her, her father, Lionel, made a deal with Alcor to fix her up- on the strange condition that he be allowed a place in the family as her twin.
She and her family live in Ann Arbor, Michigan.[3]
With her brother and father's memories tampered with as part of the deal, she didn't find out the truth about Dipper's past until she was twelve years old, during a trip to Gravity falls with her family.
Personality
A Mabel reincarnation, Belle is an playful and outgoing individual. Much like Mabel, she enjoys the sparkly things in life. She seems to harbor a strong fondness for animals. She apparently also likes chewing gum- a lot.
Relationships
Dipper Pines
Belle's (technically adopted?) twin brother. Though she enjoys teasing him now and again, it's evident they share a close bond. Even after discovering the truth about Dipper, she still considers him her brother. However, in the wake of so many revelations, she has moments where she finds herself almost jealous of Mabel, feeling like she just can't compare to who she thinks Dipper wants her to be.
Lionel Sterling
Belle's (and Dipper's) single father.
Onika
Onika is one of Belle's friends in their later years of high school. She ends up learning that Belle and Dipper are Mizar and Alcor through being accidentally dragged on an adventure with them.[4] They date for about two years and then break up due to creative differences.[5]
