A cult is a gathering of people who meet on a regular basis to worship or summon a specific demon.

History

Cults have been around before the Transcendence, but came into greater prominence after it became widely known that demons exist and can be summoned. Dipper and Mabel were brought into contact with countless cults throughout the years; first because Dipper began to be summoned by them through Bill Cipher's old summoning circle, and later because they established a network of contacts who would come to them for help when they uncovered a dangerous cult.
