Magical girl

A magical girl is a person who has been employed by fairies or sprites or benevolent spirits to act as vigilante superheroes. They are usually granted magical powers that are fueled by friendship and love, and they often have to undergo a transformation sequence whenever they want to use their powers.[1]
While the general public is aware of and appreciates the service of magical girls, the mechanics of how they work is virtually unknown to anyone who is not a magical girl.
