The Creature is a being who summons Dipper to help it escape the elves. It is an elf born without a soul that feeds on magic to survive.[1]

Physical Description

The Creature's true form is a tall, hairy creature with long arms, a large mouth, and small eyes. It is unable to speak without magic.

The Creature is able to deceive Sighted beings into seeing it as a friend or relative, and therefore it appears different to anyone who sees it. Dipper sees it as a typical Mizar with brown eyes and long hair, wearing a bright sweater and skirt with jangling bracelets.

Personality

The Creature's personality often seems to change based on who it is talking to, but it generally wants to be left alone. Although it doesn't feel guilty for its pre-Transcendence hunting of elves, it gladly transitioned to feeding off MagiTech devices in the city. Though it is generally solitary, it enjoyed its time with Dipper and grew to consider him a friend.

Powers and Abilities

Being a living creature without a soul, the Creature acts as a kind of 'black hole' to magic, causing it to interact in unintuitive ways. It is completely impervious to any magical attacks, absorbing the magic to sustain itself and healing any injuries it has suffered.

Its biggest strength lies in manipulating the Sight of magical beings, causing them to perceive it as someone they trust. Blighted elves have historically used this power to lure elves away and attack them to absorb their magic. They can even use the Sight to speak, as they are unable to do so on their own. The Creature doesn't control what any specific person hears it say, but it is able to direct the general conversation topic.

These powers are useless on non-magical beings, making most humans counterintuitively much more of a threat than elves or demons. They are specialized elf-hunters and very little is known of them outside of elf society.
