Toby the Troll
Toby the Troll is a member of the Dinner Crew.
Appearances
- Hank and His Supernatural Mafia — Toby's original appearance.
Physical Description
Toby is a very (between 8 and 10 feet) tall troll made of stone, covered in moss and lichen.
Personality
Toby is mild mannered, kind and loyal to his friends and those who helped him. He tends to speak more often than other trolls usually do, though he often mixes up human idioms and other figurative language.
History
Pre-Transcendence
Toby was born in Yakima, Washington, to Carys, the matriarch of their silicate. Growing up, his mother noticed that he often acted more like a human than a troll, something that made others of his kind uncomfortable.
Post-Transcendence
Some time after the Transcendence, Toby and his silicate were captured by a mafia based in Portland, Oregon, and were being sold at a black-market auction as slaves. Hank Pines, who had infiltrated the event, outbid everyone at the auction and used the opportunity to set Toby free. Toby then presumably helped his family and the Dinner Crew in rescuing the other captives. After this, Toby was asked by Hank if he would like to join the Crew, an offer which he accepted with assurances from Lucy Ann that he would welcome. Toby became known to the public as "The Muscle" of Hank's mafia, and was considered one of the more responsible members, being left in charge when Hank, Viv, and Lucy Ann are unavailable.
Relationships
Hank Pines
After Hank rescued him from a slave auction, Toby became loyal to Hank and served as the bodyguard for both him and the rest of the Crew.
Dinner Crew
Toby has a friendly relationship with everyone in the Dinner Crew, especially Lucy Ann, who was one of the first to welcome him to the group.
Carys
Toby and his mother have a good relationship. Carys supported Toby's interests and eccentricities, and allowed him to join the Crew as it offered him a better life than living among the trolls.
Trivia
- Toby likes glitter and boy-bands.[1]
