Fang Wu is a Mizar who is alive 5,000 years after the Transcendence.[1] She is from New Portland, Oregon.
History
Fang grew up in the Order of Exorcists, a very strict and controlling community. Due to the Order’s belief that children are only valuable as potential new members, Fang’s parents, Dagger and Shiv, were generally disinterested in her. At age 12, Fang began her formal training to become an Exorcist.
At age 16, Fang first met Dipper when he noticed her on the street. Dipper, at the time, was struggling to control his demonic impulses. He appeared in her bedroom, causing Fang to retaliate by hitting him with a tennis racquet and trapping him in a dream catcher.[1]
Their relationship remained strained, Fang often feeling unwanted by him because she did not act like past Mizars. Dipper gifted her cultbasher and the god’s eye in an attempt to gain her trust. Eventually, Dipper introduced Fang to a version of Mabel he recreated in the Mindscape to give her someone to talk to. However, this made Fang feel only more betrayed and unwanted.
One day, Fang overheard Dipper explain to Mabel that he wanted to rip out Fang’s soul to resurrect the real Mabel—angry that Fang wasn't a perfect Mizar. Afraid, Fang turned herself in to the Order of Exorcists and The Grand Exorcist under the deal that they help her kill Dipper. The Order inducted her by allowing the angel Bezemal to possess her and burn an ownership mark into her back. However, when the time came for Fang to kill Dipper, she was stopped by the voices of past Mizars and refused.
Having become a traitor, Fang’s parents tried to kill her, but Dipper killed them instead. Assisted by Mabel, they sought refuge in the Mystery Shack, which magically grew legs and wandered around. While there, the two had a fight, and Dipper almost pried out Fang’s soul, causing her to run away. She was given shelter by the Circle of the Dreamer’s Star, who helped her realize that she and Dipper both felt unwanted by the other, causing them to react violently. Having a change of heart, she summoned him and they forgave each other. Still under attack, the two kill the Order of Exorcists with Bezemal escaping. During the fight, Fang again heard voices of past Mizars and was able to cast blue fire from the cultbasher.
Fang decided to live in the Mystery Shack with Dipper and Mabel. For a brief moment, Fang mysteriously gained some of Mabel’s memories, but instantly forgot them.[2]
