Gompers
Gompers is a goat that appears to be immortal.[1][2] While he can and does age, it is unclear whether or not Gompers can actually die. Instead, at the end of a goat-ish lifetime, he walks into the forest and walks back out again as a young goat. Even Dipper and all the powers of his omniscience is unsure what exactly Gompers is.[3] Gompers lives through the death[4] and subsequent rebirth of this universe.[5]
Appearance
Gompers resembles a normal goat. He has brown fur, horns, and yellow eyes, whose horizontal pupils often point in opposite directions.
Relationships
Dipper Pines
Dipper never does figure out exactly what Gompers is. However, he does consider Gompers to be under his protection.[3] When he and Gompers fight, Dipper consistently loses.[6]
Alcor's first reincarnation after the rebirth of the universe has a childhood fear that Gompers is always watching him, and attempts to sacrifice the goat to the gods. However, Gompers reappears the next morning, unharmed.[5]
Mabel Pines
Gompers was the Ring Goat at Mabel's wedding. Over the years, he grows to allow her to braid his hair and put flower crowns on him.[7] For one of her reincarnations, Furaha, Gompers is her favorite goat.[5]
The Flock
The Flock treats Gompers with wary respect and gives him distance, as they would any other being of superior might.[8]
Trivia
- Gompers is immune to Mabel Juice.[9]
