Vincent

From Transcendence AU Wiki

Vincent is a wannabe inventor and reincarnation of Fiddleford McGucket who is alive during the SYWTBAD Arc.

Personality

Although Vincent has the same drive to invent as McGucket did, he lacks the talent to make anything anyone would actually want. He is very proud, however, and although he often summons Alcor to make deals regarding his inventions, he only ever asks for a starting fund.[1]

Appearance

Vincent is a spindly man, and he often wears ill-fitting clothes.[2]

History

Although the first few times Vincent summoned him, Dipper humored him, eventually he grew exasperated with Vincent's requests.

During one such summoning attempt, Vincent attempted to trade his soul in exchange for $10,000. Fortunately for him, Dipper refused, and instead gave him the money under the conditions that Vincent 1) learned to play the banjo, 2) did not summon any other demons until he was a master of the banjo, and 3) gave Dipper a sandwich.[1]

The next time Vincent summoned Dipper, he tried to sell his soul again, this time for marketing exposure. He was talked out of this deal by Elisabeth, who had tagged along on Dipper's summons to "observe." Eventually, both she and Dipper realized that Vincent had violated the terms of his last deal, since he had not learned how to play the banjo, and had instead simply enchanted the banjo to play for him. However, Elisabeth pointed out that he could solve his money issues by simply showing a runic expert the banjo, as he had invented a new working runic language to enchant it.[2]

Failed inventions

  • Inflatable lab coat[1]
  • Left-handed socks[1]
  • Smart diapers (diapers that alert you when they are soiled)[2]
