The Dinner Crew is the supernatural mafia that Hank Pines gradually acquired during his time in Portland.
History
The Dinner Crew came into existence through Hank helping to solve problems, provide food, and later protection, for supernatural beings in need. The connections he formed and the people he brought together, however, quickly grew into a huge network spanning the entirety of Portland, eventually even gaining a level of influence over the city's police. His work and charity would serve to bring together supernatural beings from all walks of life in peace-many for the first time and, subsequently, out of the control of their former 'masters'.
It wasn't long before a number of vampires who had previously run the show began to see Hank as real threat. This would culminate in a number of conflicts. However, Hank and his crew would thankfully come out of the ordeal victorious.[1]
Hank remained involved with his mafia until the day he died. After his death, leadership of the organization would continue to pass down the Pine family line. This would eventually lead to The Dinner Crew passing into the control of Hank's grandson Henry Travers, a far more ruthless individual (not to be confused with Hank's father Henry Pines). Being a violent extremist, his way of running the Crew differs drastically from that of Hank. In his radical and misguided attempt to stamp out supernatural discrimination through force, he even resorts to binding Alcor to his will. This would ultimately backfire, and Portland's supernatural mafia would pass out of his control.[2]
